Co-Founder & Director

Zekra Rahman, co-founder and director of Colour PR

Zekra Rahman is a senior public relations consultant and former journalist specialising in arts, entertainment and culture, with over 20 years’ experience working with clients across the UK, US and UAE.

She began her career in print journalism and radio presenting, alongside television appearances as a journalist, before moving into public relations. She has since worked exclusively across the arts and entertainment sectors, advising brands, talent and organisations on profile building, reputation management and culturally relevant storytelling. Her work spans both consumer and B2B communications campaigns for organisations including Audible, Simon & Schuster, the Royal Academy of Dance and Sharjah International Book Fair.

Zekra has a specialism in diversity, equity and inclusion communications, using PR to amplify underrepresented voices and support social impact initiatives. Her interest in this area was sparked by her early work on human rights campaigns at Amnesty International, where she developed a deep understanding of communications as a tool for influencing public opinion and policy.

Before co-founding Colour PR, Zekra built her career across PR and marketing agencies in London. She served as an entertainment reporter for Eastern Eye, contributed to publications including Asian Enterprise, Asian Woman and LIME, and was a radio presenter for Asian Star FM.

She is a graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London, holding a BA (Hons) in Communications and Sociology. Outside of PR, Zekra is a trained dancer, published cartoonist and boxing enthusiast.
