Co-Founder & Director

Zekra is a former journalist and radio presenter turned public relations professional with over 19 years’ experience of working in the PR & media industry.

 

Representing national arts organisations, entertainment brands, international festivals and community events, she has worked with clients including Royal Academy of Dance, Simon & Schuster, Audible, Icon Film, Rifco Theatre Company, Wimbledon Arts Fair, The Booksellers Association and Sharjah Book Authority.

 

At Colour PR, Zekra also provides specialist expertise in working with mainstream brands and organisations seeking to enhance their diversity strategies and champion inclusivity. With extensive experience representing diverse clients, she is also passionate about giving a voice to underrepresented communities and implementing PR campaigns that reach minority groups.

 

Prior to co-founding Colour PR, Zekra worked at various London-based PR and marketing agencies, and was a news and entertainment reporter for Eastern Eye and a radio presenter for Asian Star FM.  She has a BA Honours degree in Communications & Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London and started her career as a Press Assistant at Amnesty International.

 

Outside of work, Zekra is an accomplished dancer, published cartoonist and boxing enthusiast.
