NEW AUDIOBOOK

W. F. Howes, RBmedia’s UK publishing brand, is partnering with Dwayne Fields - the first Black Briton to reach the magnetic North Pole - to publish Exploring My Limits, a stunning new audio original. Voiced by Fields himself, the production will be released exclusively in audiobook format on 7 August from its WFH Original imprint.
Part travelogue, part memoir, and part passion pitch on the power of nature to drive personal growth and social change, Exploring My Limits charts Fields’ inspirational journey from the “endz” of Hackney to the ends of the Earth.
In his own words, Fields tells his remarkable, against-all-odds story as a victim of both knife and gun crime and reveals how narrowly escaping death led him to make an important decision that would change his life forever.
Fast forward 15 years and Fields is now a globally revered explorer, BAFTA-nominated TV presenter, co-founder of the WeTwo Foundation and recently appointed UK Chief Scout. His intrepid, game-changing expeditions and important youth work have helped to break down barriers and inspire thousands of young people around the world.
Probing deep into the subject of “limits,” Fields interviews fellow mold-breakers who have also overcome obstacles to impact and improve lives—from fellow explorer Ben Fogle and professional footballer Adebayo Akinfenwa, to ornithologist Maya-Rose Craig (aka Birdgirl) and pioneering youth workers Ken Hinds and Michael Gosling.
Dwayne Fields said: “For as long as I can remember, right back to my early years living in Jamaica, I’ve had a deep fascination with nature. To say my life has been full of ups and downs is an understatement, but finding my way back to nature, and then encouraging future generations to do the same, has been truly lifechanging. I’m so delighted to be working on this project with W.F. Howes, getting the chance to tell my life story in my own words and voice and interviewing some of the most extraordinary and courageous people I’ve met along my journey. I believe audiobooks are a really powerful medium and I hope mine will connect with and inspire listeners all over the world.”
The World English-language rights for the book were acquired from Jo Wander Management by W. F. Howes’ Acquisitions Manager, Laura Smith, who commented: “Dwayne’s story is simply awe-inspiring. By being unafraid to take bold, life-changing decisions, pushing the boundaries of what is humanly possible, and bringing others with him on his journey, he has achieved so much in such a short time—impacting countless lives in the process. We’re so thrilled that Dwayne has entrusted us to help share his story and inspirational message to the world, and that he has chosen the spoken word format as the perfect medium to bring his vision to life.”
