W. F. Howes, RBmedia’s U.K. publishing brand, has acquired the audio rights to John Lanchester’s new black comedy Look What You Made Me Do, publishing this March.

A darkly witty, suspenseful story of love, trust, entitlement, and revenge, Look What You Made Me Do follows the lives of two very different women from two very different generations, who are heading towards a battle that only one of them can win.

The audio edition will be narrated by acclaimed screen, stage, and voice actors Louise Brealey (Such Brave Girls, Back, Sherlock) and Genevieve Gaunt (Knightfall, Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban), who bring the novel’s two lead characters to life.

John Lanchester is the author of four non-fiction titles and six novels, including Booker longlist nominee The Wall and Sunday Times bestseller Capital. His work has received numerous accolades, including the Hawthornden Prize and the Whitbread First Novel Award, and has been translated into 25 languages.

Habiba Sacranie, Senior Acquisitions Editor at W. F. Howes, acquired the UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) audio rights for the title from Becky Percival at United Agents in a competitive pitch process. She also secured renewals for six titles from Lanchester’s back catalogue, all of which were previously published by W. F. Howes.

Lanchester said:  “I’m thrilled to be working with W.F. Howes again and to be taking our relationship forward with Look what you made me do. I’m excited to hear the audio version of my novel. It’s no secret that audio is becoming a more and more important way of connecting with readers, and I know that my books couldn’t be in better hands.”

Habiba Sacranie said: “We have been working closely with John since 2008, when we published the audio editions of Mr Phillips and Family Romance. Since then, our relationship has blossomed, and I’m incredibly proud to say he has become one of the star names in our catalogue. John is a uniquely talented and adaptable writer, with a rare ability to master different styles, traverse genres, and appeal to a wide range of readers—and Look What You Made Me Do showcases these qualities to perfection. The team is absolutely delighted to be collaborating with John once again, and we’re convinced that this latest release, skilfully narrated by Louise and Genevieve, will be another audio hit.”
